Whether you maintain your vehicle because you want to save money, or because you just really enjoy working on your vehicle, I want you to know that I am right there with you. I love working on cars and saving money, which is why I have invested to become an ASE Certified Master Technician.
With the load of information that we have available to us on YouTube, you may be able to figure out how to do most jobs on your own, however, we both know the time difference that having experience can make. Also, as cars and trucks continue to become more and more advanced it is becoming harder and harder to have the proper tools on hand for every job.
I bring the tools and parts for every service that I provide and I have specialty tools, cleaning materials, and experience that enable me to be able to do a reliable, efficient job every time. I also have supplier connections on the parts I provide and install, so if any turn out to be faulty I can hold the manufacturer to their warranty to make sure that your engine gets fixed, and that you get your money’s worth.

Oil changes are an extremely important part of vehicle upkeep, as oil loses effectiveness over time. Without proper lubrication, vital parts of the engine will overheat, warp, and seize, all of which can cause dramatic engine damage. Tire Repairs

Tires are one of those things that if they aren’t checked, rotated, and replaced regularly can lead to dangerous accidents. One key advantage of using Nelson’s Auto over other mechanics is that I can bring the tires to you. If you notice that you have a bad or flat tire, there is no need to risk a drive to a tire store. Our mobile tire repair service comes directly to the location of your vehicle. Be it at home, the office, or in a parking lot.
Tire repair vs Replacement
While some tires will be damaged beyond repair, there are many cases where a simple patch can extend the tire life for many more months. Nelson’s Auto is dedicated to always helping our customers have the cheapest, most effective option over the expensive one, and if I can repair your tire and save you the need for a replacement I will strive to do just that. It is important to know that not all tires can be patched, and there are certain situations, like a nail in the side of the tire instead of the tread, where a patch will not work.
Tire Rotation
Tires should be rotated every 5,000-8,000 miles to help prolong tire life. If your tires haven’t been rotated in a while then I invite you to give me a call. Holding off on your tires being rotated for another month could mean the difference between needing to get new tires sooner rather than later.
There will come a time when tires need to be replaced. During tire services, I always check my customers’ tires to make sure that they are in good condition. If I notice anything wrong with the tire, such as splitting in the rubber, or worn-out tread, I will bring it to your attention so that you can know that the time has come to change your tire. Your safety and that of your family are important to me, so I will always bring issues to your attention that may lead to trouble later on

Giving your vehicle a tune-up is one of the best ways to help it continue running smoothly and efficiently. During my tune-up service, I do an extensive go-over of all the major parts of your vehicle, checking the different systems, fluid levels, filters, and other components to get an in-depth understanding of the current condition of your vehicle before performing the tune-up. Then I bring that information to you to make a plan on when and where you would like the different parts of the tune-up to be performed.
When done correctly, most tune-ups require at least 1-2 hours on most vehicles. Brake Check / Replacement
Are your brakes screaming at you to replace them? Brakes are an essential component of your vehicle’s protective features, and if they are squealing then it means that they are likely worn out. Like many other maintenance services, brakes are something that can easily be done at your home with the proper tools.
Nelson’s Auto is fully prepped for quick and efficient brake pad replacement services. I have everything needed for tire removal, and the vehicle stabilization, as well as the actual process of brake replacement, and can make recommendations on which brake pads would be the best fit for your vehicle and driving needs.
Better yet, I have the experience and know-how to recognize signs of other issues that may be causing your brakes to wear unevenly, or quicker than they should. If I see these signs during a brake replacement service, I will bring them to your attention and offer advice on what could be done with the vehicle to help your brakes last their full lifetime.
Brake System Overhaul
Whether you need a brake job or calipers replaced, Nelson’s Auto has the skills to service your vehicle. During a regular tune-up or brake pad replacement service, I take special care to check the condition of your braking system. I do this because the brake system is one of the most important parts of vehicle safety and also one of the parts of the vehicle that is worked the most. If your brakes wear out faster than they should be, that in itself could be a sign that something is going wrong with the system. So I do a thorough inspection to make sure that everything related to the system looks good.
In some cases, it may be advised to do an overhaul of the brake system. A complete overhaul can take around 3 hours or more, which is a substantial amount of time to be away from work or your home. The check engine light is a sort of catch-all alert for the many thousands of issues that could happen with your engine. That light doesn’t necessarily mean that a large-scale repair or service is in order either, but no matter why it is that the light has come on, you can be sure that it is important to look into it as soon as possible. Your vehicle is sending you an emergency alert for help, and ignoring it will not solve the issue. It will probably make it worse, though.

Frequently asked questions
At Nelson’s Auto, we ensure that there is a warranty on all labor performed and all parts purchased by us. We cannot at this time provide a warranty for parts or labor on parts that were not purchased by us.
One of the benefits that I can offer to my customers is that I provide warranties on parts and labor, but only on the parts provided through Nelson’s Auto. I will install parts purchased and provided by the customer, but unfortunately, I cannot provide any warranty with such a service.
Technically speaking, Nelson’s Auto is not a roadside assistance service. I am a mobile mechanic service that specializes in jobs located at residential or commercial locations. If you are stranded on the side of the highway and require a tow, jump, or tire replacement, it is advised to reach out to a Roadside Assistance Service for help, as they have proper training and protective equipment to help ensure safety on the side of the road.
If you are in a pinch and have no one else to call, then there is a possibility that I may be able to help if I have an opening in my schedule, however, I can not guarantee open spaces. Due to the nature of the job I have to run a pretty tight schedule.
Nelson’s Auto is a mobile mechanic service that covers the area of Parowan to St George, so basically both Iron and Washington County.
