The main reason is that it helps reduce friction–the opposing force that tries to stop parts of the engine from sliding on each other like they need to. Once the new oil and filter are installed, we use Valvoline’s professional engine oil additive to help increase the lubricity of the engine oil, and it helps the oil to greater resist break-down (when oil breaks down, it becomes less and less lubricative) from the extreme heat produced by the engine. These products cannot be purchased “over-the-counter” at auto parts stores. These professional products are only available to professionals to ensure the best quality performance for those who choose to use their incredible products.
